AHP Experts provides health, dental, vision and life benefits to associations and their membership. Owners Mark Lehmann and Jon Hager have represented associations since 2000 and have set up eight association health plans in the past six years.

AHP Experts is exclusively focused on associations – we have no direct employer or individual clients. This focus allows ASG to better understand the association market, eliminates conflicts of interest, and eliminates any perception of competition with the broker sales force. Founding Story

A Focused Approach for Association Health Solutions

Asset Solutions Group, Inc., the parent company of the AHP Experts family of companies, was founded by Mark Lehmann in 1997.

In 2000, ASG partnered with Gary R Barlett Insurance Agency, providing health insurance to associations, which was acquired by ASG in 2006. In 2020, ASG partnered with Hager Benefits Solutions, LLC, adding compliance services for its associations.

Finally, in 2021, ASG sold all its direct group and individual client book of business to focus exclusively on associations. The focus allows ASG to better understand the association market, eliminates conflicts of interest, and eliminates any perception of competition with the broker sales force.

Mark Lehmann is the co-owner and founder of Asset Solutions Group, Inc. (ASG), the parent company of the AHP Experts family of companies.

Mark began his insurance career in 1981, focusing on assisting senior citizens with their insurance and financial needs. In 1997, Mark founded ASG, which soon partnered with Gary R. Bartlett Insurance Agency (GRB). ASG focused on wealth preservation, charitable estate planning, and leveraging life insurance to help affluent clients transfer assets to future generations while GRB concentrated on providing health and life insurance benefits to employers and Association Health Plans (AHPs). In 2006, ASG acquired GRB. In 2020, ASG partnered with Hager Benefits Solutions, LLC, adding compliance services for its associations. Finally, in 2021, ASG sold all its direct group and individual client book of business to focus exclusively on associations. The focus allows ASG to better understand the association market, eliminates conflicts of interest, and eliminates any perception of competition with the broker sales force.

Mark has been an active member of the Nevada insurance community, serving on the Nevada Department of Insurance Commissioner’s Agent Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Nevada Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP) and currently serves on the Broker Advisory Board for Hometown Health Insurance Company of Nevada.

A Reno, Nevada native, Mark graduated from Reed High School and earned a Track and Field scholarship to the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Outside of work, Mark enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, fishing, and hunting. He and his wife, Marie, share a passion for RV camping, traveling, exhibiting classic cars, and supporting local charities.

Jon Hager is the co-owner of Asset Solutions Group, Inc., the parent company of the AHP Experts family of companies, and brings a wealth of knowledge from the health insurance industry with a focus on association health plans and MEWAs. Jon is our point person for compliance and contracting. He specializes in Association Health Plans and Multi Employee Welfare Arrangements, ERISA and the Affordable Care Act.

Prior to ASG, Jon worked at a regional health insurer, where he was responsible for product development, the creation of association health plan products, vendor and project implementation, process improvement and performance monitoring. From 2012 to 2014, Jon served as the first Executive Director of the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange. From 2006 to 2012, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Nevada’s Public Employees’ Benefits Program and was responsible for the Program’s $476 million annual budget which served 72,000 members.

Jon served as a combat pilot and instructor pilot in the U.S. Navy for nine years. He earned his MBA from Texas A&M and a BS in Physics from the United States Naval Academy, with a certificate in Aviation Safety from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. He is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program provided by America’s Health Insurance Plans and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jon is the President of the Carson City Schools Foundation and a coach for the Carson High School two-time state champion cross country team. Jon has been the vice-chair of the State Exchange Leadership Group (2012-2014), Vegas Seven 2014 Intriguing People, member of the Nevada Insurance Commissioner’s Life and Health and Network Adequacy Advisory Councils, Commissioner of Carson City Region 140 American Youth Soccer Organization and Director of the Comstock Shootout Soccer Tournament.

When Jon isn’t working, he loves to spend time with his wife and two kids. He enjoys playing Rocket League, traveling, running, coaching, hiking, camping, and Lake Tahoe.
